HOW TO ENTER: To enter the sweepstakes go to www.smithsonianjourneys.com between May 8, 2008 and May 22, 2008 and complete the Smithsonian Journeys Travel Survey. Limit one entry per person. E-mail address on entry must be in the name of the contestant. Smithsonian and any internet access provider are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, human error, technical malfunction, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, inability to access web sites, damage to a user’s computer system (hardware and software) due to participation in this sweepstakes, or any another problem or error that may occur. All entries become the property of Smithsonian.

PRIZES: (1) Grand Prize: A $100 American Express Gift Card. No transfer or substitution of prize permitted.

JUDGING: Prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Sweepstakes drawing to take place on or about May 23, 2008. Odds of winning a prize are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received. Smithsonian reserves the right to void any entries that in their opinion show evidence of actual tampering or technological corruption of the survey promotion or otherwise violate these rules. Any attempt by an entrant or other individual to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the promotion is in violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Smithsonian reserves the right to seek damages from any such person and seek other remedies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

ELIGIBILITY: Smithsonian Journeys Travel Survey promotions are open to legal residents of the (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older. Trustees, employees, officers, volunteers of Smithsonian Institution, and immediate family members and persons living in the same household of each of the above are ineligible. Void where prohibited.

GENERAL RULES: Winner will be notify by e-mail and may be required to sign, notarize, and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release or an alternate winner will be selected. Taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winner. By accepting a prize, winner consents to the use of his/her name or likeness for advertising or publicity purposes in any print, online, or other media without further consideration, except where prohibited by law. Winner agrees that Smithsonian Institution accepts no liability or responsibility for damages, losses, or injuries of any kind resulting from participation in this promotion or acceptance or use of the prize.
